Biography

Infections and inflammatory diseases represent significant burdens to human health. We want to understand what causes and spreads disease around the world by modern travel, chronic inflammatory conditions, or environmental change.

We work in different areas of infection biology and immunology, studying a wide range of diseases. Examples are acute and chronic inflammatory diseases, rheumatic disorders, skin diseases as psoriasis, acute bacterial and viral infections such as the many variants of the coronavirus, and work with novel therapies, including immune regulation.

We are more than 200 researchers and Ph.D. students who collaborate closely with clinicians and researchers from a wide range of fields as well as partners from the medico-technical industry.
