Biography
Rohina Noorzae is a PhD‐student at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, where she investigates the origins and early triggers of type 1 diabetes through large-scale epidemiological studies. Originally trained in public health and epidemiology, her work focuses on how maternal diet and viral exposures during pregnancy and childhood may influence the onset of autoimmune diabetes. Among her recent findings is a nationwide Danish study showing no increased risk of type 1 diabetes in children after SARS-CoV-2 infection, and a prospective cohort study linking a pro-inflammatory dietary pattern in pregnancy to offspring diabetes risk. Her research bridges nutritional, viral and immunological factors in diabetes onset, with the aim of identifying preventive strategies.
