Biography
Pedro Henrique Cury Camargo is Professor of Inorganic Materials Chemistry at the University of Helsinki, where he leads a research group focused on the design and synthesis of functional nanomaterials. His research centres on controlling matter at the nanoscale to tailor optical, catalytic and electronic properties, with applications in energy conversion, catalysis and advanced materials.
Camargo’s work combines inorganic chemistry, materials science and nanotechnology, with particular emphasis on metal and metal-oxide nanostructures, plasmonic materials and hybrid systems. By developing precise synthetic strategies, his group studies how size, shape, composition and surface structure determine material function. His research bridges fundamental chemistry and application-oriented materials design and is published widely in leading international journals.
