Biography

Dr. Nathan E. Lewis is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego, where his lab develops and deploys systems and synthetic biology technologies for the development of molecular diagnostics and engineer the cell pathways controlling mammalian cell growth, metabolism, protein synthesis, protein glycosylation, and cell-cell communication, in an effort to develop improved biologics. Furthermore, he is a collaborator and affiliate of the Novo Nordisk Foundation National Biologics Facility at the Technical University of Denmark, where he applies big data analytics and systems biology tools to enhance the product quality and quantity of recombinant protein biotherapeutics.
