Biography

Kristoffer Henriksen is Professor of Sport Psychology at the University of Southern Denmark, where he leads research into the mental and cultural factors that shape elite sport environments. With a background in both psychology and practical coaching, he bridges theory and practice to explore how coaches and sports systems can foster sustainable performance and athlete well-being. His work spans Olympic and professional sport and includes close collaboration with athletes, coaches, and national federations. A key focus of his research is understanding how high-performance environments are intentionally designed—balancing performance demands with psychological safety and long-term development. Henriksen is also a practicing sport psychologist, contributing his insights to both academia and the field.
