Biography
Anne Katrine Graudal Levinsen is a Danish public health researcher specializing in the intersection of social inequality and cancer survivorship. As a member of the Cancer Survivorship research group at the Danish Cancer Institute in Copenhagen, she recently completed her PhD focusing on how educational disparities affect health-related quality of life among cancer survivors. Her research, based on nearly 28,000 survivors of breast, prostate, lung, and colon cancer in Denmark, showed that individuals with shorter education had significantly higher odds of impaired functioning and severe symptoms years after diagnosis, compared with those with longer education. These findings highlight the importance of tailoring follow-up care to address social inequalities and ensuring that all survivors receive effective support for managing long-term symptoms and improving quality of life.
