Biografi

Eva Irene Bossano Prescott is a Danish cardiologist and clinical researcher whose work bridges patient care and population health. As professor at the University of Copenhagen and consultant at Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital, she has spent more than three decades studying how heart disease affects men and women differently — from biological mechanisms to social factors. She is best known for leading the large iPOWER study, which revealed that many women with angina have disease in the heart’s small vessels rather than the major arteries. Her research also explores prevention, rehabilitation, and the influence of lifestyle and psychosocial stress on cardiovascular risk. Prescott has helped shape European guidelines on prevention and leads major clinical trials on treatment after heart attack. Through her work, she aims to make heart care more precise, equitable, and responsive to individual patients.
