Biografi
Elsebeth Lynge is Professor Emerita of Epidemiology at the University of Copenhagen and one of Denmark’s leading researchers in cancer epidemiology and screening. Her work has focused on population-based studies of cancer incidence, mortality and prevention, with particular emphasis on cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccination.
Lynge has played a central role in evaluating and shaping national screening programmes, using large-scale register data to assess benefits, harms and long-term outcomes. Her research has influenced public health policy and international guidelines on cancer prevention. She is widely cited in the scientific literature and has received honorary recognition for highly influential studies. Throughout her career, she has combined methodological rigour with a strong interest in how epidemiological evidence can inform real-world health decisions and improve population health.
