Biografi

Dorte Glintborg is Clinical Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Southern Denmark and consultant endocrinologist at Odense University Hospital. Her research focuses on hormonal and metabolic disorders in women, with particular emphasis on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and its long-term health consequences.

Glintborg’s work examines how hormonal imbalances interact with metabolic risk factors such as insulin resistance, obesity and cardiovascular disease. Using clinical cohorts and large-scale registry data, she investigates both the reproductive and cardiometabolic aspects of PCOS across the life course. Her research has contributed to a better understanding of how the condition affects women’s health beyond fertility, including risks related to metabolic and cardiovascular disease. Through her clinical and research activities, she works to improve diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of endocrine disorders in women.
